One of the most beloved forms of yoga today, is ashtanga yoga. This form of yoga is very primary and it is the yoga of option for many athletes. If you are going to start doing ashtanga, you should probably think using an ashtanga yoga mat.

When I first saw the mat for ashtanga yoga, I was not exactly sure what to think. The mat looks like an oversized towel. I could not dream what type of benefits there would be from using this mat. But I asked around, and found out that it was one of the most beloved mat choices. Here are a few reasons why I use the ashtanga mat.

Minimalist style. The first thing that you will consideration when you see an ashtanga yoga mat, is that there isn't much too it. It is a woven piece of cotton, with frayed edges, and typically two yellow bands near the ends. But with yoga, sometimes less is more. This mat is very primary and has been used for many years. Yoga helps you to understand your body, and when you use a mat with too much padding, you sometimes trick your body to be comfortable when it truly is not. Absorbent. The ashtanga mat may not have a lot of cushion, but it is very absorbent. Ashtanga is a very demanding form of yoga and it is guaranteed to make you sweat. You do not want to use a mat that is going to get slick when it gets a exiguous wet. The ashtanga mat will give your body sufficient conflict to get into any pose that you want.

Portable. Out of all the yoga mats available, the ashtanga mat is the most portable. Since there is not much padding, the ashtanga can be rolled up into a very suitable and ageement size. This makes it great for travel. It also makes it great for outdoor use, or to take on hikes or long walks.
